You don’t have to be a member to join us at the Wodonga RSL.
The Wodonga RSL is a family friendly Club offering a pokie free atmosphere. Everyone is welcome, especially current and ex-serving personnel, and their families, along with the general public. Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere or view some of our memorabilia that is on display.
The role and purpose of the RSL is to support serving and ex-service personnel and their families.
Since 1916, the RSL has evolved to ensure it can continue to deliver services that improve the welfare of past, current and future Veterans. We help service personnel and their families at each stage of life to transition from service into the community.
Each State delivers a range of programs that help ensure Veterans receive their entitlements and then are connected to support services that enhance their quality of life at all stages. This could involve assistance in re-training to move into a new career after service to entering into an RSL aged care facility.
We work closely with Government, other Ex-Services Organisations and support service providers to ensure that our members receive the right type of care and benefits. The funding for the majority of these services comes from membership fees and donations to the ANZAC and Poppy Appeals. RSL volunteers help to administer the services and run the Appeals and this gift of their time has been valued at $34 million per year nationally.
Bookings are highly recommended due to the popularity of our family friendly bistro style restaurant, especially during the summer, school holidays, long weekends and public holidays.
The Fowlers Stove Bistro at the Wodonga RSL features comfortable surrounds with a great range of food and entertainment options. Our restaurant includes a 100 seat dining area inside with an additional alfresco balcony for those beautiful for sunny days which is also heated in the winter. Our rooms are available for function hire & we welcome everyone; you don’t have to be a member to use our services and enjoy our hospitality.
We are famous for our locally produced products & our chefs will produce all ranges of products for your special function. Our bar stocks lovely local wines as well as a great range of Australian favourites.
Volunteers are the heart of the Wodonga RSL Sub Branch and an integral part of all levels of our operations.

FUNDRAISING OFFICERS
As a fundraising Officer your role is to plan and carry out fundraising strategies including local and national events and appeals. Your fundraising will ensure that you and other volunteers can continue to provide practical support for members of our Defence Family and their families. We are looking for volunteers to provide friendly support and a listening ear to our Defence family and their families, such as a visit to someone in their home, hospital or care establishment for a cuppa and chat. Being a Wellbeing officer is a rewarding role which allows you to experience first hand the difference you make to a person’s life.
Being involved in pro bono work can be a great experience, connect you with the local community and you will see firsthand the difference you can make in someone’s life.
